Can I install the oven behind a cork/wooden wall?
Can you install an Alfa oven near a cork or wooden wall? Learn the recommended safety distances, heat-resistant surfaces, and best practices for a safe installation.
Installing an Alfa oven too close to walls made of combustible materials (cork, wood, plastic) poses a risk of overheating and fire. Follow this guide to ensure a safe and compliant installation.
1️⃣ Minimum Safety Distances 🔥
✔️ 20 cm between the oven and any flammable wall or structure
✔️ 50 cm of free space around the chimney
✔️ 100 cm above the oven for proper heat dissipation
2️⃣ Recommended Surfaces ✅
If you need to place the oven near a wall, use heat-resistant materials:
- Fire bricks
- Stainless steel panels
- Ceramic tiles or natural stone
- Fireproof masonry or refractory concrete
ℹ️ If the wall is made of wood, cork, or another combustible material, always install a fireproof protective panel between the oven and the wall.
3️⃣ Installation Under Coverings 🏡
When placing the oven under pergolas or canopies:
✔️ The chimney must extend at least 1 m above the structure’s height
✔️ A certified double-wall chimney is mandatory
✔️ Do not connect the oven to a shared exhaust system
4️⃣ What to Avoid ⚠️
🚫 Direct contact with wooden or cork walls
🚫 Use of combustible materials as cladding
🚫 Blocking ventilation around the chimney
