What color should the oven flame be during use?

For Alfa gas ovens, the ideal flame should be predominantly blue with some yellow tips. This indicates efficient and optimal combustion.

📌 Characteristics of the Ideal Flame:

Blue color with yellow tips → Indicates proper combustion with a good balance of oxygen and gas.
Stable and well-defined flame → Should not be too high or too low and should not "flicker" excessively.
No excessive soot or gas odor → A flame producing too much smoke or a strong gas smell suggests inefficient combustion.

🔧 What Can Affect Flame Color?

📍 Power setting → At maximum power, the flame may appear more intense, while at minimum, it might look weaker and less defined.
📍 Gas quality → Impure gas or incorrect pressure can turn the flame yellow-orange and generate soot.
📍 Air ventilation → Poor airflow in the installation area can alter combustion and change the flame’s color.
📍 Dirty burner → Residues, impurities, or spider webs inside the burner can cause a yellow or irregular flame.

⚠️ Common Issues and Solutions

Flame Color Possible Cause Solution
Entirely yellow/orange Incomplete combustion, excess gas, or insufficient oxygen Check ventilation and clean the burner
Too weak and short Gas pressure too low Verify pressure regulator and gas level
Flame extinguishes easily Strong drafts, clogged burner, or potential gas leak Protect the oven from wind, clean the burner, and check for leaks
Flame with excessive black smoke Impure gas or incorrect air setting Check gas quality, clean the burner, and adjust air settings for proper combustion

🔎 Inspection & Maintenance

✔ If the flame color is incorrect or unstable, turn off the oven and check if the burner is clean.
✔ If the problem persists, check the gas pressure and ensure the regulator is compatible with your oven.
✔ For precise adjustments, contact a specialized technician or your nearest Alfa dealer.
