Minimum Distance Requirements from Walls, Furniture, and Flammable Structures
Ensure safe installation of your Alfa oven by following recommended clearance distances from walls, furniture, and flammable materials.
To ensure safety and efficiency while using your Alfa oven, it is crucial to follow minimum clearance distances from flammable surfaces, such as walls, furniture, and wooden or plastic structures.
1️⃣ General Distance Requirements for All Alfa Ovens
Regardless of the fuel type (wood, gas, or electric), the following minimum distances must be maintained:
✔️ Side clearance from walls and furniture → At least 20 cm (8 inches)
✔️ Rear clearance → At least 20 cm (8 inches)
✔️ Clearance from ceiling or overhead structures → At least 100 cm (40 inches)
✔️ Flue pipe clearance from flammable structures → At least 50 cm (20 inches)
✔️ Clearance from countertops or other appliances → At least 20 cm (8 inches)
📌 Maintaining these distances helps prevent overheating of surrounding surfaces and ensures proper ventilation.
2️⃣ Specific Distance Requirements by Oven Type
🔸 Wood-Fired & Hybrid Ovens (Gas + Wood)
✔️ Must be installed on a stable, level, and fire-resistant surface.
✔️ Flue pipe: Should extend at least 1 meter (40 inches) above any overhead structure (pergolas or roofs).
✔️ Not recommended for installation under closed canopies unless an adequate fume extraction system is installed.
🔸 Gas Ovens
✔️ Avoid placing the oven in poorly ventilated areas.
✔️ LPG Tanks (if used): Must be placed at least 1 meter (40 inches) away from heat sources and in a well-ventilated area.
✔️ If connected to a natural gas network, ensure compatibility with the existing gas system and check for other gas-powered appliances sharing the line.
🔸 Electric Ovens (URBE)
✔️ Require adequate space for heat dissipation.
✔️ Avoid placing the oven in a closed corner with no air circulation.
✔️ Check power supply compatibility: Ensure the electrical outlet meets the required voltage and amperage and is not obstructed.
3️⃣ Additional Precautions for Installations Near Flammable Structures
🔹 If placing the oven near wooden or plastic structures:
✅ Use a thermal barrier (stainless steel or refractory bricks) if installing the oven near wooden walls or plastic materials.
✅ Do not install the oven under enclosed structures without an adequate fume exhaust system.
🔹 If installing under a pergola or covered patio:
✅ Use a certified double-wall chimney to prevent overheating of the structure.
✅ Maintain at least 1 meter (40 inches) of clearance between the flue pipe and the overhead structure.
✅ Ensure the area is well-ventilated to prevent smoke or heat accumulation.
4️⃣ Recommended Surfaces for Oven Installation
✔️ Fire-resistant base: The oven must be placed on a heat-resistant surface, such as stone, concrete, stainless steel, or refractory bricks.
✔️ Avoid plastic or wooden surfaces beneath the oven to prevent heat damage.
✔️ Support feet: If the oven has adjustable feet, ensure they are securely installed to allow for proper airflow beneath the unit.
📌 Summary: Recommended Minimum Clearances
Element | Minimum Distance |
---|---|
Side clearance from walls/furniture | 20 cm (8 inches) |
Rear clearance | 20 cm (8 inches) |
Clearance above the oven | 100 cm (40 inches) |
Flue pipe clearance from flammable structures | 50 cm (20 inches) |
Clearance from countertops/appliances | 20 cm (8 inches) |
LPG tank clearance from heat sources | 100 cm (40 inches) |
