Follow best practices, regulations, and expert tips for proper airflow and optimal performance. Yes, you can extend the chimney of your Alfa oven, but it is essential to follow certain guidelines to ensure optimal performance and avoid compromising the oven’s efficiency. Follow this guide to proceed safely.   --- ### **1️⃣ Considerations for chimney extension** **Standard configuration:** Alfa ovens are designed to operate with a standard chimney of approximately **1 meter**. **Extension impact:** If you extend the chimney, the natural draft will increase, which may affect combustion and temperature stability. **Solution:** Install a **butterfly valve** to regulate airflow and maintain optimal combustion.   --- ### **2️⃣ Installation under a pergola or covering** **Covered environment placement:** If your oven is placed under a pergola, canopy, or similar structure, the chimney must extend beyond the covering’s height for proper smoke exhaust. **Key rules:** ✔️ The chimney must extend **at least 1 meter** above the roof or covering structure. ✔️ Use a **certified double-wall chimney** to ensure thermal insulation and safety. ✔️ Do not connect the oven to a **shared exhaust system** with other appliances.   --- ### **3️⃣ Tips for a safe and efficient installation** ✔️ **Maintain verticality:** 🔹 Avoid excessive bends – keep the chimney as straight as possible to maximize draft efficiency. ✔️ **Use high-quality materials:** 🔹 Choose **heat-resistant pipes** that comply with safety regulations. ✔️ **Seek professional assistance:** 🔹 For special installations, consult a **qualified technician** to ensure compliance with local regulations.   --- 📌 **Need additional support?** Contact Alfa’s customer service for personalized advice: 🔗 [**Contact Alfa Forni**](https://www.alfaforni.com/en/contact-us/) - [Before the purchase](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/before-the-purchase?hsLang=en#main-content) - [Choice of the oven](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/before-the-purchase?hsLang=en#choice-of-the-oven) - [Installation and compatibility](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/before-the-purchase?hsLang=en#installation-and-compatibility) - [Power supply and fuels](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/before-the-purchase?hsLang=en#power-supply-and-fuels) - [Accessories and features](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/before-the-purchase?hsLang=en#accessories-and-features) - [Warranty and registration](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/before-the-purchase?hsLang=en#warranty-and-registration) - [Installation and first start-up](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/installation-and-first-start-up?hsLang=en#main-content) - [Assembly and configuration](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/installation-and-first-start-up?hsLang=en#assembly-and-configuration) - [First start-up and testing](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/installation-and-first-start-up?hsLang=en#first-start-up-and-testing) - [Use and cooking](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/use-and-cooking?hsLang=en#main-content) - [What can I cook in the oven?](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/use-and-cooking?hsLang=en#what-can-i-cook-in-the-oven) - [Urbe oven](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/urbe-oven?hsLang=en#main-content) - [Installation and compatibility](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/urbe-oven?hsLang=en#installation-and-compatibility) - [Functionality and use](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/urbe-oven?hsLang=en#functionality-and-use) - [Pizza experience & events](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/pizza-experience-events?hsLang=en#main-content) - [Preparation of the dough](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/pizza-experience-events?hsLang=en#preparation-of-the-dough) - [Perfect cooking](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/pizza-experience-events?hsLang=en#perfect-cooking) - [Maintenance and cleaning](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/maintenance-and-cleaning?hsLang=en#main-content) - [How do I clean my oven?](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/maintenance-and-cleaning?hsLang=en#how-do-i-clean-my-oven) - [Troubleshooting](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/troubleshooting?hsLang=en#main-content) - [Temperature and combustion](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/troubleshooting?hsLang=en#temperature-and-combustion) - [Structure and components](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/troubleshooting?hsLang=en#structure-and-components) - [EVO OVEN](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/evo-oven?hsLang=en#main-content) - [Features & Installation](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/evo-oven?hsLang=en#features-installation) - [Operation & Technologies](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/evo-oven?hsLang=en#operation-technologies) - [Accessories, Maintenance & Support](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/evo-oven?hsLang=en#accessories-maintenance-support) [![Alfa Forni](https://help.alfaforni.com/hs-fs/hubfs/02-logo-alfaforni-R.pdf.png?width=44&height=24&name=02-logo-alfaforni-R.pdf.png "Alfa Forni")](https://help.alfaforni.com/en/?hsLang=en) Upgrade your oven.
